Simply a beautiful destination! Absolutely worth it!

Easily accessible via beautiful trails - be careful, it's slippery! The walk is definitely worth it! And please: plan your time! This isn't a hike you can start an hour before sunset - the terrain isn't a well-paved hiking trail!

In May, there may still be a few patches of snow here. Your boots might get wet.

A spectacular view of Navik and Lofoten.

Beautiful view of Narvik, the bridge and the surrounding mountains. The descent over scree is sometimes very steep. At the pump house, at the parking lot, water is released through a pipe at 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. This creates a 246-foot (75 m) high fountain.

If you go here in the winter, do not expect water. There will be ice and snow.

When you finally reach the end of the valley you see the clear lake. At this point it is not obvious that you can choose between left and right lakeshore, so most people take just the one they see at that moment. I went for the left one, but next time I would choose the right lakeshore as it offers more and better places to sit. The views are stunning at both shoresides.
