Very nice hiking routes!

At 1,604 feet (489 m) above sea level, Klukshaug is a fine vantage point above Balestrand. It features on the Balestrand Up race, which goes from the Kviknes Hotel to the top of Raudmelen, quite a way above yet!

Raudmelen is the objective for the Balestand Up race. Standing 3,189 feet (972 m) above sea level, making it to the top is a strenous effort. However, the reward is dreamy mountain views.

Stage on the way up. But there are better vantage points (Orrabenken, Burasi Benken).

Konshaug is a beautiful, slightly flattened peak with a great view. The shorter climb from Djuvik or Tveit is mostly quite steep through forest and over streams. Easier but much longer is the route via the Kalbakk route.

Gulepple and Keipen are striking mountain peaks, which can be seen well from Balestrand. Both can be reached via a steep climb. The effort is worth it! The trail starts at Esefjord Camping and is marked. (not to be seen in Komoot)

The “summit” of Stedjeåsen lies inconspicuously right on the side of the road between forest and raised moor. At an altitude of 620 meters there are still too many trees to provide a good view from the plateau. But fortunately a small wooden sign shows the way to the viewing point about 200 meters further south.
