From here, you have a great view of the Byglandsfjord near Lauvdal. It is a long, narrow freshwater lake in southern Norway known for its calm waters and scenic forested surroundings. It is part of the Setesdal valley and is popular for fishing, boating, and quiet nature experiences.

We also looked for the path on the shore, but only found a trail in some places. You should only search with long trousers and high heels, since it is partly swampy, bushy and prickly.

The way up is gravel and can be walked without problems. However, it is quite steep. Within a short time you make quite a few meters on the way up. At the top is a picnic area and from there we continue to the left to the viewing platform, past an incredible number of blueberries and over many pine roots. The view of the fjord is breathtaking, especially when the weather is nice when the water glows blue and glitters.

This is a fantastic little hike with a most rewarding view from the top. Keep your left at the moment when you pass the sign

We did not find the path marked on the map directly on the shore, instead the path goes a little further away from the shore over a hill. Nice view over the lake.
