Great panorama, especially in the morning

From the hut terrace, the Gumpenkarspitze magically draws hikers' gaze. Yet few make the effort to climb the Soiernhaus's local mountain. The hike up there isn't difficult. Those who want to conquer a second summit can continue along the ridge to the Krapfenkarspitze. @

King Ludwig had a special flair for beautiful places. One of these gems is the Soiernkessel in the Karwendel Mountains. The two emerald-green lakes with their striking peaks surrounding them lend the scenery a magical quality. The Gumpenkarspitze is somewhat off the beaten track. From this prime location, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the view as in royal times. Because of the very long approach via a forest path, the summit is often done as a bike and hike tour, or combined with an overnight stay at the Oberes Soiernhaus. @
