Bivouac very well maintained by the CAI. Truly a gem

The Vallestrina bivouac is a spartan bivouac located in the shadow of the Alp of the same name. Spartan in appearance, but not in content. Inside we can find: stove, table with chairs and bench, chopped wood, bunk bed with three seats and above all electric light provided by a photovoltaic panel. Outside: mega table and barbecue. Going up the stream, there is a source about 100 meters away. The password is always the same: RESPECT!

Beautiful refuge built in stone and wood located at 1,300 meters above sea level, adjacent to the picturesque village of Monteorsaro, in the municipality of Villa Minozzo. Its position within a natural amphitheater dominated by Mount Cusna makes it an ideal place for a break immersed in the nature of the Reggio Emilia Apennines. A strategic starting point for excursions in the area, the refuge has 32 beds, offers the possibility of camping and has a restaurant with excellent traditional Emilian cuisine. Outside there is also a large green space with sun loungers and a relaxation area. The refuge is open every day in the months of July and August and during the Christmas holidays, public holidays and every weekend in the rest of the year.
