The initial stretch that reaches the catacombs of Cava Celone is very nice, not very clean but the trail is still clearly visible! Continuing the tour you have a stretch of road on the plateau until you reach the path again that should lead down to the valley! Dirty path, at times almost completely closed by brambles and thick vegetation!

Most likely you will find at the end of the quarry the iron gate closed with a padlock. To reach the road you will have to go back about 20 meters and you will notice part of the fence open with a beam in the center to pass through.

Clear water in winter, stagnant in summer. Always nice for a picnic and a walk

Very easy to see and walk on in January 2024. A beautiful little gorge!

Hiking shoes recommended. The gorge is partly overgrown, especially in spring. But you can hike through the entire gorge.

The deeper you go into the gorge, the more difficult the paths become. At the gorge entrance, sneakers are also sufficient; if you hike further, you will need hiking shoes.

We strongly advise against the walk! At the first unpaved part we had to take a 2km detour because we were not allowed to cross anyone's ground. The last 2km were terrible. The 'path' became more and more impassable, until we were completely stuck in the blackberry bushes. In the end we came out with a lot of scratches...

So called because it was believed that the Servants of God came here, Cava dei Servi has been inhabited since ancient times and it is still possible to see the remains today.
