Wonderful peak where, apart from a chapel, there are the remains of an ancient fortified town

The summit of Monte Stella reaches 1131 meters in height, houses a sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna della Stella and also large antennas and a radar sphere. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole Cilento area and the sea.

It's worth the ascent to get to the top. Unfortunately, most of the summit is occupied by radio equipment.

Breathtaking panorama that repays the effort made to get there!

Immersed in the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, it is worth a visit if only for the immense panorama that can be enjoyed once at the top. The only discordant note is the huge white sphere at its top which houses a LORAN base which is used as a radar base by ENAV for air traffic control in the Eastern sectors of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea and the Southern Tyrrhenian Sea. The radar in question is recognizable by the radome, the large white protective dome placed on top, visible throughout the district.

Monte della Stella is a massif that rises in the Cilento National Park. Its conical peak (1131 s.l.m.) was flattened to build the great radar sphere, lowering the altitude of the mountain.
