The noble façade has a fifteenth-century entrance (normally open and accessible and allows you to visit the internal courtyard), while the battlements and bastion are from the sixteenth century. The north side of the factory was added in the 17th century. Imposing eighteenth-century baronial residence and a fine example of the Salento baroque, this structure once housed a Byzantine castle, as well as the most important headquarters in the hinterland of the land of Otranto. The facade is finely decorated, with the entrance portal with the coat of arms of the Granafei family and a balustrade on top. The first floor is decorated with Rococo frescoes of mythological scenes and divinities, the work of Salento artists including Serafino Elmo. To the left of the building there is a hanging garden known in the nineteenth century as the "flower garden" characterized by paths, fountains, tubs and coffee houses in Lecce stone and decorated benches.
