Unfortunately, following a fire in the shelter, all that remains is rubble. Even the connection to the cable car square is made difficult by the works on the lifts, so you have to cross the stables and exit above it, or go through a hole in the fence immediately after the toilets.

The refuge is located on the Verteglia plain: a truly wonderful place both in summer and in winter. A few steps from the refuge is the Acque della Madonna lake.
