A small shelter, right by the water, but probably privately owned... It's not exactly easy to get there. But from there you have the very best view of the water.

No bench in sight, and this one is warmer than a bench. (UPDATE: A little further on there was an almost hidden bench :D)

The almost romantic railway bridge, in the middle of the forest, exudes a deep sense of calm on the one hand, and offers a beautiful view on the other.

« The history of the Westerwald Association Selters e. V. (as of 2008) » "The roots of today's Westerwald Association Selters e. V. go back to 1884. At that time, there was a beautification association in Selters, whose objectives were clearly enshrined in its name. Its chairman was the Selters Royal Forester Ernst Lade. In 1888, this Selters beautification association, together with the beautification associations from Altenkirchen, Grenzhausen, and Montabaur, formed the basis for the Westerwald Club founded in Selters, the forerunner of today's Westerwald Association (main association). On May 6, 1888, representatives of the aforementioned beautification associations met in Selters at Kirchstrasse 11, at the former Frohneberg Inn, today's "Westerwälder Hof," to establish the Westerwald Club and thus "open up" the Westerwald (tourism) and to serve the homeland," which the Selters Beautification Association had previously also set as its goal. The Westerwald Club's (annual) general meetings took place in Selters in 1889 and 1890. And at the general meeting in 1891 in Altenkirchen, teacher Schäfer from Selters joined the board as secretary. At the same time, the Westerwald Club published its first edition of the 277-page "Westerwald Guide." Its contents reveal that other beautification societies (Dillenburg, Hachenburg, and Westerburg) and the Rhine and Taunus Club in Wiesbaden have joined the Westerwald Club..." The old railway bridge is absolutely worth seeing and can only be crossed by hikers or cyclists.
