Hike through beautiful nature. Unfortunately, the GPS often breaks down. The path is still easy to see. But the round trip is much longer than it is recorded. Depending on your pace, it takes 3.5 to 4 hours. The path is very rocky in places and can only be mastered with a few climbing sections. Good shoes and poles are recommended. Avoid it when it's wet! Great view of the coastal landscape, the pools of water also have their charm. The descent to the waterfall is tough. A worthwhile hike! The journey by car to the parking lot is doable, but it is a challenge. Lots of potholes and stones, only a few parts are concrete. There is a shuttle from the base station, but only early in the morning and in the afternoon.

Relatively easy to reach waterfall with a large swimming pool. Only the last 100m go down a bit over larger stones and gravel. In May (2024) the waterfall no longer has much water. But swimming would definitely have been possible……… the swimming pool still has a lot of water. I would recommend a visit at midday/afternoon, as the waterfall faces south. So unfortunately we were a bit early (11 a.m.) and the waterfall was still in the shade. Parking is possible directly on the street, but there is no designated parking lot. Access is on private property and is secured with a gate and barbed wire. There is no sign saying "no entry" or "private property". The fence is pushed down in one place, so you can just climb over. If you are nearby, you can definitely stop by. But the waterfall is not a must……….

A very nice place to take a break. In spring you can also see newts. The rocks around are nice and flat, so you can also have a nice picnic.

Rio Pitrisconi is a river that crosses the forests of Monte Nieddu di San Teodoro. Along the way you can admire the spectacular granite canyons dug by the slow flow of the river, large natural pools and waterfalls.

A picturesque forest of holm oaks, junipers and oaks hides the waterfalls and pools of Rio Pitrisconi. They are generated by the river of the same name, one of the rare Sardinian streams that flows throughout the year. Over time, the patient work of erosion carried out by the water on the granite has created a gorge with natural pools, small lakes on which the green of the Mediterranean vegetation is reflected and a spectacular waterfall that makes various leaps.

A short hike from the main mountain doubletrack, you can visit Rio Pitrisconi to discover the breathtaking chain of natural pools and waterfalls that carve through the rock here. There's also a tap near the picnic area for refilling water bottles, which comes in especially handing if you've ridden up here from either side of the mountain.
