Mount Secchieta lies between the municipalities of Reggello and Montemignaio. The peak, approximately 1,500 meters above sea level, is part of the Pratomagno ridge and separates the Casentino valley from the Upper Valdarno valley. There is a refuge there, which can also be reached by a paved road.

Capanna delle Guardie is a bivouac located at 1340 meters on Pratomagno, between the Vallombrosa Biogenetic State Reserve and the protected area of the Bosco di Sant’Antonio. The Bivouac, easily reachable from various paths, has 9 beds: there are in fact 3 bunk beds for three people. The bivouac is equipped with an internal fireplace, internal sink, large table with 2 benches and a water source outside (in recent years water has not always been present, so it is recommended to bring water with you). Outside there are several tables and two braziers; there is also a bathroom that can be accessed with the key provided on request by the Union of Municipalities of Valdarno and Valdisieve. Between Florence and Arezzo, in a wonderful natural environment of millenary forests rich in fauna, wolves, deer, roe deer, fallow deer and eagles, hermitages, monasteries and medieval castles. Casale Camalda is an ancient Tuscan rural complex in stone, in an isolated and silent position, among woods and streams, a stone's throw from the historic monastery of Camaldoli, reachable on foot with easy and short paths through the forest. Casale Camalda is within the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna. Several paths start and pass from here, all easy and extremely interesting from a naturalistic, historical and landscape point of view. Three different paths from the Casale, derived from small roads and historical paths frequented over the centuries by woodcutters, pilgrims, charcoal burners, peasants and brigands, quickly reach the Monastery of Camaldoli by joining the path network of the Casentinesi Forests.
