This impressive project, the largest lake in Tuscany, has many purposes: from providing water for the crops in the Tiber Valley, to regulating the flow of the Tiber waters to avoid summer droughts, to providing electricity thanks to a power plant located downstream of the dam.

The park covers about eight hectares and includes a beautiful lake with a large colony of aquatic turtles, pedestrian and cycle paths, play areas for children, an area for dogs off the leash, a small open-air theater reminiscent of those ancient Greece for shows and a lively community centre.
