You are standing before a sinkhole of extraordinary proportions, 25 meters wide on the surface and 40 meters at the base. This abyss, which penetrates the bowels of the earth for 270 meters, is the deepest single-span sinkhole in Europe.

Domus de Janas means "houses of the fairies" in English. These are Sardinian rock tombs. Well signposted. Short walk from the Piscina car park. Lots of wild boars and donkeys

The ascent to Monte Fumai is definitely worthwhile for this magnificent all-round view. The way is easy to find through cairns.

The scramble up here is worth it. The path is marked with cairns and is easy to find.
