Candelo, the highlight of our Piedmont trip. Small town from the 14th century with small shops and very good restaurants. An absolute must.

The ricetto is a medieval structure typical of Piedmont; a medieval grouping of houses surrounded by walls in which the inhabitants of the countryside took refuge in case of danger. The ricetto of Magnano is less well known than that of Candelo, but it is preserved very well. This complex, together with the church of S. Giovanni, is a small pearl set in the hills of Biella.
