The waterfall was formed in 1962 following a landslide on the two ditches that give rise to the San Godenzo stream. The stretch to get there is a bit challenging but it's definitely worth it.
If you follow the stream a few meters uphill in the bend near the Chapel of San Torello, you can see several small waterfalls, at least during the wet season. Be careful when climbing; it can be slippery.
