The Laghetto d'Umbra is a rainwater-fed lake. The turtles living here were released, but they seem to thrive here.

A beautiful walk in the Umbra forest in the Gargano region that starts from Laghetto d'Umbra near Caserma dei Carabienieri Forestali and follows the path to Caserma Murgia. From here you can deviate a bit to visit the ruins and then return along the path to Lago d'Otri, a small lake in the Gargano forest.

The climb to Masseria La Porta, although paved for a long stretch, maintains intact the charm of a rural and pastoral environment, overlooking the Varano lagoon and the charming ancient village of Cagnano Varano. The most upstream part, however, remains the angular mule track of the past, drawn within hedges of lush Mediterranean scrub or framed by fields, pastures and "macerė", the characteristic and inevitable dry stone walls. Those who climb must not forget to often look backwards to enjoy the unique views offered by this route, an essential alternative to the steep steps of the Sentiero dell'Arcangelo.

The Umbra lake or Falascone is a small lake with stagnant waters surrounded by splendid trees. The waters of the lake are populated by many animals including turtles and fish. It can be easily reached from the visitor center for a day of immersion in nature.

The path to reach the lake is easy and suitable for families. It is a pleasant walk immersed in the woods. The lake is actually a small pond, however very fascinating, as it is surrounded by various plant species typical of the area. However, it is worth a visit.

The Palude di Frattarolo Nature Reserve is a wetland near Manfredonia, created in 1980 to protect the biodiversity of this ecosystem. The Reserve is bordered by the provincial road that connects Manfredonia to Margherita di Savoia, and inside it is allowed to breed buffalo in the wild to supply the dairies in the area.

Beautiful lake, not suitable for swimming, where it is possible to admire various species of lake fish and turtles sunbathing on the banks and on the trunks.
