Santa Maria di Monte Casoli is a church located in the Monte Casoli area, in the municipality of Bomarzo, in the province of Viterbo. The Monumento Naturale di Corviano is located on a peperino plateau, typical of the Tuscia landscape, which was already inhabited in the early Middle Ages. It has a great wealth of flora and fauna, concentrated in a small area (an area of ​​about 70 hectares). It is also special from an archaeological point of view. Due to its strategic features and good defensibility, the area was inhabited since the early Middle Ages. The medieval town of Corviano had a castle and a church. Along the ridge overlooking the stream, there are the rooms of numerous underground houses carved into the peperino. They consist of two or three rooms and are supplied with air through large windows cut into the rock face on the outside.
