Refuge well kept and free

The Romolo De Angelis refuge is located at an altitude of 1,450 meters above sea level, immersed in a beautiful beech forest and with a splendid view of the mountains above Antrodoco. The refuge is always open and well maintained. It can be reached with a steep but not too long walk from Rocca di Fondi. It's a pleasant place to seek fresh air on hot summer days or enjoy the colors of autumn.

A plaque in memory of Luigi Baldi has been affixed to the Rifugio Mattutino. "Keeper of time and nature" reads the plaque, so that everyone, visiting the refuge, can breathe a little of Luigi's way of life by dedicating a thought or a smile to him.

Refuge of reference in the Apennine chain. Gateway to excursions to Monte Terminillo, in summer it can be a bit crowded and in winter be prepared for cold and snow.
