From here you have a fantastic view of Oedelsheim, the Reinhardswald forest, and the Weser Valley.

Wilde Heimat hiking stamp No. 50 at the "Kasseler Eck" hut (not in good condition)

The WS 50 stamp box is now located at the "Kasseler Eck" shelter, right on the edge of the forest, 30 meters from its former location at the hiking signpost. This is a perfect place to rest and relax, with a beautiful view of the Weser Valley and the town of Oedelsheim. The shelter was built in the early 1970s from the demolished timber of the former Oedelsheim threshing barn – that's sustainability at its best! Remains of the original "Kasseler Eck" rest area can be found approximately 100 meters to the north.

a great place for a break

It's nice to take a break at the roller shed. At least there's a nice bench in front of the little house.

Beautiful view of the Weser valley with the towns of Oedelsheim, Gieselwerder and the Waldensian village of Gottstreu. A traditional Weser ferry has connected the two banks of the Weser for centuries. Using cable technology and the flow of the water, it crosses the river and also connects the hiking and cycling trails on the right and left banks of the Weser.
