The Blitzenreuter Lake District has been known as an ecologically valuable area for many years. As early as 1924, the central raised bog core and its non-peat-drained surroundings were protected as a protected forest. In 1937, other parts of the area were designated as a nature reserve (Dornacher Ried with Häckler Ried, Häcklerweiher and Buchsee). Very attractive even in winter.

Very beautifully situated ingrown lake, in the middle of the forest. Beautiful forest path for cycling and hiking.

The lake is beautifully situated in a nature reserve. If you love peace and quiet, this is the place to be to relax and watch the birds letting nature take their toll.

Very informative lookout point! Indeed, with a little patience I could even watch dragonflies!
