A small beautiful waterfall right next to the Rauriser Tauernhaus. Not as impressive as one of its kind, but it's all the nicer that you can walk right up to the water here. Get refreshed or build a stone dam with your kids.

Super nice, continuously paved route. The Gössgraben is also called the valley of the falling waters because of its many waterfalls. I have to admit that I was last here about 20 years ago. So my expectations of the roaring masses of water were really high. Unfortunately that was not the case. This year (2022) we had a lot of snow, but it hardly rained in spring. But even without the waterfalls, this valley is really worth seeing. Narrow serpentines, beautiful alpine pastures and great views of the mountains never cease to amaze. Since GPS and network are hardly available here…. download your tour offline 😉

The most striking waterfall and the numerous falls. You can see it from far away. When there is a strong wind you can see how it blows away the water from the falls.

Coming from the Stappitzer See in the direction of the Schwussnerhütte, most of the waterfalls can be observed on the left - at one point you can even see 5 waterfalls cascading down at the same time.

The climb is really tough and is really more suitable for wider tires. The route initially leads very idyllically through the forest and passes a few properties. This is followed by an inferior road quality combined with steep gradients. You should drive very carefully, especially on the descent, as there is often very coarse and loose gravel on the road or even asphalt is no longer available. Otherwise, there is a really beautiful, sometimes wild nature, combined with real tranquility, at the top of the warehouse. Without the tourist crowds like at Kölnbreinspeicher, this creates a really extraordinary atmosphere and you are rewarded for the effort of the climb.

Calm / beauty over comfort. For the racing bike it is a bit borderline / gravely towards the end. So sometimes very steep on gravelly ground. Went without getting off, but you have to push / pull yourself up steeply a bit without getting up. 25 tire and 34:28 gear ratio, I would have liked to have had 1-2 more sprockets. Quiet: practically no traffic. In the end, nothing at all, except mountain bikers from above. You just have to decide for yourself how to deal with access restrictions and, if necessary, apply them to motorized people. "Up to 30 minutes waiting time" would have been rather infinite. For pure enjoyment (apart from the first somewhat steeper approx. 500m) you may only drive to the first roadblock.

Depending on the amount of water, the waterfall barely touches the ground and fans out or it appears to be “blown with the wind”. When the sun is shining, you can usually see a pretty rainbow here.

The waterfall path is beautiful and if it rained a few days, the waterfall contains so much water that the bridge is almost flooded ...
