This is the Rosenberg ruin, not Rosenburg (as mentioned by Martina, which is located west of Herisau near Ramsen). The Rosenberg, Rosenburg and Urstein castles were once a trio. Four-sided foundation walls up to a height of 5 m have been preserved. Inside and outside with barbecue areas.

Very well maintained and great to look at. It is possible to rent the Schlössle for weddings, for example. Great location with beautiful views. Interesting for hiking and biking

Behind the castle there is a demanding uphill with large stones and slabs.

The detour doesn't really bring much, not even in terms of scenery. The ruins can only be guessed at... According to the map, there is a trail that leads down to the Urnäsch stream, but I don't know if it's worth it, and it looks rather steep and very difficult.
