2월 22, 2025, Louis Bourget Park Beach
A small idyll on the very edge of Lausanne: the Louis Bourget Park. It is named after a doctor, naturalist and ornithologist who, during his lifetime from 1856 to 1913, campaigned for this spot to be declared a nature reserve.

8월 28, 2024, Église Saint-Sulpice and Lake Geneva View
The foundations of this church, an example of Romanesque art in Vaud, date from before the year 1000. Of the old Romanesque building, only the apses with semi-dome, the choir, the vaulted transept and a crossing surmounted by a square bell tower remain. The interior is extremely sober, although the colourful decoration softens the severity. The building has been used for Protestant worship since the 16th century.

Saint-Sulpice is a district in the west of Lausanne. Saint-Sulpice is also home to the Église Saint-Sulpice, a beautiful church dating back to the 12th century. This church is one of the oldest buildings in Lausanne and has a rich history. Saint-Sulpice is also known for its beautiful views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. From some places in the district you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama. This makes Saint-Sulpice a popular place for hikers and nature lovers.

8월 22, 2023, Louis Bourget Park Beach
The Louis Bouget Park is located on the western edge of the municipality. The Chamberonne River forms the border with the municipalities of Ecublens and St-Sulpice, where the University of Lausanne and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are located. The park offers the only natural beach on Lake Geneva in the Lausanne area. This park, which has more than a kilometre of lakefront and is therefore also suitable for swimming, has two faces: from October to March, you can take solitary walks in an environment shaped by water and wind. From April to September, the lawns are taken over by families and students from sunrise until late at night. https://www.lausanne-tourisme.ch/de/entdecken/park-louis-bourget/

At the mouth of the "Dranse" in Lake Geneva is a nature reserve of great biodiversity. It is located on one of the most important European migration routes and is a stopover for many birds, including cormorants, herons and raptors. Unfortunately, the Dranse Delta is only partially preserved - most of it was built by housing estates and industrial estates and converted for a large marina and gravel factory. In between, a narrow strip of floodplain forest has been preserved along the course of the river. Hopefully this will not take its revenge one day ... In recent years, flood disasters have multiplied and construction measures like this have also played a role.

Excellent observation point for cormorants and other lake or migratory birds. Protected area, even swimmers despite the nearby beach.

6월 16, 2021, Bird Island (Île aux Oiseaux)
An artificial island that serves, among other things, as a refuge for migratory birds, which no longer find peaceful banks for a stopover on their travels. Other nesting birds also benefit.

7월 31, 2020, Église Saint-Sulpice and Lake Geneva View
After a short drive in the old village of St-Sulpice and a short descent, we discover this magnificent Romanesque church. If some want, they can take the boat from here or walk along the lake to the marina. Calm and wonder await you

This artificial island serves, among other things, as a refuge for migratory birds who no longer find quiet banks to stop off during their travels. Other nesting birds also benefit. A perfect site for ornithologists!

In the old town of Saint-Prex you quickly feel as if time has stood still. No wonder that the community received the Wakker Prize in 1973 for the care and preservation of the historic townscape. So it's worth a quick stop, especially for a photo or two.

12월 15, 2018, Historic Old Town of Saint-Prex
Adapted to the shape of the peninsula of Saint-Prex, the historic town has the rare floor plan of an almost equilateral triangle. The main street extends from the gate (in the middle of the north side of the triangle) to the port at the tip of the peninsula. At right angles there are several small cross streets. The historic city center with residential buildings and partly agricultural outbuildings has retained the character of an agriculturally oriented small town to this day. All that remains of the former fortification is the town gate with a bell and clock tower from the 18th century. To the east of the old town is the castle, of which only the mighty square keep from the original building from the 13th century has been preserved. The current residential buildings of the castle date from the 16th century. The manor house Le Manoir on the southern edge of the old town also has a medieval watchtower from the 13th century. Numerous town houses, patrician houses and farmhouses date from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Outside the historic town stands the reformed parish church of Saint-Protais, which dates back to the 9th century. The current single-nave building was built in the 12th century (choir) and 13th century (nave). Inside there are wall paintings from the 14th century. In 1973 the community received the Wakker Prize for maintaining the historically valuable townscape.
