The Étang du Buron is a small, picturesque pond in the Vaud Jura, above Yverdon-les-Bains. Originally created artificially, it served to store water for agriculture. Today, it is a tranquil natural setting with high ecological value. The pond is surrounded by wet meadows, open forests, and species-rich riparian zones. Amphibians, dragonflies, and numerous birds use the area as a habitat. The Étang du Buron is easily accessible for walkers and cyclists and is a popular local recreation destination. Information boards and well-maintained paths invite you to explore nature in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Etang du Bois Neuf is an artificial pond for fishing, observing flora and fauna and for relaxation. A wooden walkway offers the opportunity to view the pond up close, and there are many opportunities for picnicking around the pond.

This is a place where there is a few séquoias trees 🌳 They've just cut one of the biggest one around this place.

Nice view of the French Alps and the "Léman" lake. This is the real name, not the Geneva Lake.

Watch well in the middle of the small pond, you can see salamander.

Along the 475 route of swissmobile (rural loop of Gros De Vaud), we follow a small path which leads to this pond. What a nice surprise! Superb vegetation, song of birds, frogs, dragonflies .... an enchanting corner!
