The tower is a ruin that the imagination suggests is a castle, but the access path through the Vaux valley towards Yvonand is simply a bucolic marvel.

This vestige of the Middle Ages was built around 1240 and then renovated in the 20th century. The building once served as a residence for the lords. Today, a staircase allows you to reach the top of the tower which offers a splendid view of the surrounding farms and pastures and the Jura.

Romont, the medieval art-historical town, is nestled on a hill and has a number of attractions to offer: the castle (inner courtyard and Swiss Museum of Stained Glass), the Gothic church (stained glass from the 15th to 20th centuries, choir stalls and sculptures), towers and city walls, the shopping streets, restaurants and inviting terraces, a great panorama and outside the city walls, the Cistercian monastery "Fille-Dieu" (stained glass windows by Brian Clarke). https://www.myswitzerland.com/de-ch/reiseziele/romont/

The Boyer Tower was built in the 13th century. Shortly after, it was equipped with a complete defensive system, which made it a small castle. In the 19th century, it was acquired at auction by a Mr. Boyer who wanted to use the stones for other constructions. The city bought the building before it could carry out this project, but the Tower kept its name! The esplanade is a very nice playground for children. The Boyer Tower is a significant monument: the thickness of the walls is 3.10 m at the base and 2.60 m at the top, at 38 m!

Beautiful medieval town in an elevated position and a unique view over the green countryside. Numerous historical and well-preserved buildings characterize its appearance. In front of the entrance to the city, there is ample parking and even a few sites for mobile homes with electricity. A place worth seeing that invites you to linger.

Great walk with pretty single tracks in the forest. You must pass by the St-Martin tower with an incredible panoramic view! Small downside, passage under the highway next to the bike because the path is impassable, and the stairs are quite steep. Be careful, good physical conditions recommended. To do and redo :-)

A little town or a big village with all what you need to have a break : - many restaurants (from Kebab to high gastronomy through pizzeria, Chinese and traditional), - 2 supermarkets (Denner, Coop), - the Sherlock Holmes Museum (the son of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived a while in the castel) (https://www.lucens.ch/sherlockholmes) - village from Pascal Baertschi who travelled around the world in a bit less that 6 years (https://pascalbaertschi.ch/) - and the view on the (private) castel. Public toilets are near the main bridge in the midle of the town. From there, you will find 6 trails around Lucens (http://sdlucens.ch/nos_parcours.html)

The town of Lucens, which is well worth seeing, lies on the Broye stream and is dominated by the fairytale-like Château de Lucens. The castle is on a hill and with its turrets and annexes it looks like something straight out of a picture book. In Lucens you will find a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets. The place can also be reached by train.

Moudon has a pretty old town, through which a stroll worthwhile. Refreshments can be found here as well. The castles Carrouge and Rochefort are especially worth seeing in the small town.
