At 859 meters, the Burghorn is the highest point on the Lägerngrat. From here, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views: to the south over the Limmat Valley to the Alps 🏔️, and to the north into the Surb Valley and the Aargau Jura 🌳 – a perfect place for a break with a view!

There's nothing to see here. What's special about the Gubrist is that you don't normally hike over it, but rather drive through the motorway tunnel that runs almost directly beneath the summit, one of the busiest routes in Switzerland.

There are benches here to take a break and enjoy the great view and at this point there is also a path away from the ridge. The exposed ridge section only follows after the Lägerensattel towards Baden. If you suffer from fear of heights, you can still hike here and think again up to the Lägerensattel, even with the Lägerensattel there are still ways down into the valley.

The Burghorn is one of the highest points on the narrow ridge of the warehouses. From this vantage point you have a fantastic view to the south of the Appenzeller Alps, the Glarus Alps, the Uri Alps and up to the four-thousanders of the Bernese Alps. The small bank invites you for a short break.
