As Verena already mentioned: based on the maps you get the impression that there is no continuous path between the Rütiweid car park and the viewpoint below the Witwald ruins - but in fact there is a narrow path that is marked with white (sometimes also blue) dots on the trees and leads over a steep staircase.

The paths are easy to walk on, partly steep and slippery due to the dry leaves on the surface, so you should take enough time for this hike. In various places you have a wonderful view of the valley and the surrounding villages. The way to the waterfall is not marked on all maps: it goes very steeply down a well-preserved natural staircase (towards Diegten). The stairs are secured in places with a solid railing. The high waterfall rewards the effort of the hike.
