Stadtpark West, Rheinfelden With stately trees, a spacious promenade and direct access to the old town for walks, Stadtpark West is a popular retreat. The "valley" is about 100m deep and has a size of about 72 hectares. Because of its steep, wooded flanks, the valley in the Tafeljura is also known as the small "Grand Canyon" of the Baselbiet. Between the oak grove and Wildenstein Castle, the castle pond lies somewhat hidden and inaccessible behind a dense thicket. It's an idyllic spot that deserves protection. There's no path to its shore, and that's a good thing, because countless animal species make their home here and appreciate being left in peace. And let's be honest. Would we really like it if every Tom, Dick, and Harry descended on us uninvited, made a lot of noise, and perhaps even left behind a mess? At least there's this: For hikers and walkers, there are two lovely park benches right by the path by the pond, inviting you to linger.

The stately trees and the spacious promenade are a real feast for the eyes in all seasons. The location directly on the Rhine and the spectacular view of the old town facades make the park a popular photo spot.

A local recreation area with a large playground and lawns. It borders directly on the Rhine promenade, from where you can hike or walk towards the new Rheinfelden hydroelectric power station. From the city park it is just a stone's throw to the stork's nest tower, through which you can enter Rheinfelden's old town. The park is also home to the charming “Stadtpark/ Gottesackerkapelle”. It was built on the original cemetery.
