A super highlight is the Düdinger Moos

Very beautiful place and the silence of the Schiffenensee

We started the walk from the Salavaux village hall and followed the Broye towards the lake. Then we joined the edge of the lake to follow it for one or two kilometers and ended up returning by the Vita trail. A great walk that we like to do out of season.

The Düdingen Möser were subject to numerous disturbances in the 20th century. The peat of this Möser, which took several thousand years to form, was intensively mined during the Second World War to counteract the lack of coal. This resulted in several bodies of water and the habitat began to be colonized by trees and bushes. The use of part of the Möser as a waste pit and for fish farming, as well as the construction of the A12 motorway, had a major impact on this habitat in the 1970s.

The Magere Au dam was built in 1872 and was the first concrete dam in Europe. The dam can be crossed on foot and by bike.

The Silent Valley is considered one of the most beautiful places in the municipality of Düdingen. Here you will find a bay of the Schiffenensee, into which the Düdinger Bach flows. There are many barbecue areas along the paths in the Silent Valley.

Beautiful area for walking!

The trail is beautiful in the summer but little shade and I walk so much along the lake!!
