Places of execution were mostly outside the village and often on important traffic routes. Higher-lying places were also chosen with preference and the sites were traditionally located in such a way that the condemned's face faced north. This also applied to the Einsiedeln high court. It was on Etzelstrasse, to the left of the forest path, on "Bilgeriweg" or "-strasse" coming from Etzel. From Pfiffegg you can't see to the north (Rtg Lake Zurich), but to the south Rtg Alpen. The location of the Pfiffegg highlight is also incorrect (Piffegg is still marked on the map!). Practically all of the photos above were not taken from Pfiffegg, but rather. from the Ruchweid and the surrounding area, a little north and deeper than the Pfiffegg!
