A real beauty, not far from Várpalota in the Vár-völgyi "cauldron", which also offers a minimal challenge, as the Bátorkő castle stands at the very top of a hill. There are presentation boards and benches in the valley. The entire area is good for hiking and contains other "treasures".

The tour of the castle was very interesting and impressive with real people as actors.

A well-preserved ruin, a few km from Salföld. It can be a great destination for a short family trip.

It withstood several sieges (including one by the Ottomans in the 16th century) but was never captured. It suffered its greatest destruction in 1713, when Austrian imperial troops set fire to it after an uprising (the Rákóczi War of Independence) to prevent it from falling into the hands of the rebels. Afterward, it fell into ruin.

The climb and the battlements offer excellent panoramic views over the town of Sümeg and the hilly landscape of the Tapolca Basin and the Bakony Forest.

The well-preserved and restored complex conveys an authentic medieval castle feel. The castle's nighttime illumination is particularly atmospheric.

The Esterházy Palace is an impressive baroque palace located in the city and is one of its most popular attractions.
