This is one of the springs that feeds the Elsa and since it has been bubbling for many centuries, settlements and buildings were quickly built in such places. For example, mills, paper factories and glassworks. Colle was or still is a glass town and there is also a museum. The water here is not warm as many claim, but it is also not as cold as from a mountain spring. It is a wonderful place for swimming and there is also a small parking lot, but not for large RVs, as the path to the parking lot is very small and bumpy.

At first glance, the perfect route. But it turns out to be extremely mountainous and rocky with undergrowth and aggressive mosquitoes. The bathing lake was all the more inviting. But I was out without any bathing equipment. After that, a rocky single trail uphill and through the vineyards of Chianti back to Gaiole. A wonderful refreshment in the market square, honestly deserved!
