The trail from Djupsanvatnet down to Skålbuvatnet leads along narrow paths through a breathtaking gorge. The effort is truly rewarded by the experience. The trail is strenuous. There are three sections where a rope is required to navigate narrow passages. At one point, the deep stream must be jumped.

Beautiful old road through the forest and a gorge with rough parts for a gravel bike. Downhill from the west, uphill and very steep from the east. The Hanakam waterfall was stunning as were the many other smaller waterfalls and streams coming from the mountain.

It's fun to cross the short gorge

A beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest. Opposite is a beautiful viewpoint bordered by large rocks. From there, you can best see the waterfall.

A beautiful waterfall that falls into a pool halfway down and from there plunges further into the valley.

Every now and then, it’s worth it

Crossing this small gorge on the Lardalstigen is definitely worthwhile and not particularly dangerous. However, you should be careful when descending because of the wetness and people with claustrophobia should avoid this detour altogether.
