Starting point for climbing the Moldovean, the highest mountain in Romania, 2544 m above sea level. The parking lot is a disaster, best to arrive the evening before or very early. The way there is 37 km forest road, about 2 hours gravel road.

Great refugium to stay for a night after the first day of hiking. Great view if not too cloudy. Water is available within a 2km radius. Please guys, take your trash with you!

The Poiana Tamas Wilderness Camp offers a comfortable infrastructure with platforms for tents, common rooms and sanitary facilities and a well-preserved traditional old shepherd's hut.
