The Ortútske Lake was formed by a landslide and flooding of a terrain depression. It has earned nicknames such as the sea eye or the miner's eye. The lake is named after the part of Malachov Ortúta that was associated with mercury mining.

The chicken coop is almost fenced off everywhere. Parking is paid during the summer, currently the entrance fee is 8 Euros to the swimming pool.
