Attention, the Zügenschlucht has been closed until further notice since August 2023 following a storm due to rockfall, windthrow of wood and landslides! This will remain the case until at least 2025 (info at davos.ch/aktivitaeten/outdoor-abenteuer).

In the picturesque landscape between Wiesen and Monstein in Davos, the Zügenschlucht stretches for over three kilometers. The constant flow of the Landwasser has created this impressive natural gorge, which is accompanied by the impressive rock formations of the Steig and the Silberberg. This section of the Epic Trail is easy to navigate and offers you the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views of the gorge in peace.

Simple but beautiful bike tour through the Zügen Gorge. From Wiesen take the trail to Leidboden and continue under the Landwasser viaduct, great section! At the end a few meters of altitude to Filisur and the leisurely round is done.

Take the trail with a traverse to the waterfall, but before that there is a turn to the right. This is the trail (you can only go to the waterfall anyway, much too blocked). Ha. it is marked with S3. That also fits. Solid stones and some switchbacks in the upper part, further rooty to flowy in the lower part. Demanding trail with a lot of handlebar work. The crossbeam is also extremely blocked, easier to ride with ebike. A lot of Gecshick is necessary 😁

You briefly leave the hiking trail along the Albula River to marvel at the 63-meter-high Schaftobelbach waterfall. Above the trail, there's a good viewing platform overlooking the waterfall. Those who are brave enough can climb the mountain closer to the waterfall, which plunges down seemingly out of nowhere (the river flows from the right). The Schaftobelfall is accessible from Alvaneu Bad or Surava.
