Please do not use this shortcut; the access to the steep bank of the Schussen River has been closed by the municipality of Meckenbeuren for good reason (landslide). Furthermore, the former path towards the wooden bridge now leads through private orchards. The official signage for Highway 4 has been changed; towards the FN, follow the cycle path from Sassen-Schuppenwies along the K 7780 to the Oberbaumgarten junction in Eriskirch-Dillmannshof to the wooden bridge. Towards Tettnang, reverse the route; so keep right after crossing the wooden bridge!

Officially, this trail is no longer signposted, but a few years ago it was still a hiking trail. There was a landslide, but you can get through it. There's a great view of the Schussen River and you walk through a very short but beautiful gorge.

Somewhat hidden and inconspicuous, this grotto is hidden in the small forest.

The Schussen is a 59-kilometre-long tributary of Lake Constance and thus a right and northern tributary of the Rhine in the southern part of Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

How can anyone recommend this as a trail? Completely unsuitable: the entrance/exit towards Tettnang is narrow, steep, partly overgrown (temporarily, if not permanently closed), contains steps...., so that you have to climb down or push (at least in the uphill sections). is forced. Maybe better in summer (without foliage) than in my case at the end of October... But I can't judge that at the moment
