A really impressive gorge. My highlight of the tour. Here you feel like you are in the jungle - with the corresponding mosquitoes, but you are happy to put up with that. Highly recommended! 😊 You can also hike in the gorge and cross it 😊

Highlight already exists as a section... Wonderful valley with a small road that stretches for almost 12km between Arnstadt and Crawinkel. There is a bit more traffic in the afternoon, but it's still bearable. Asphalt is great!

A time trial has been held here every year since 2023, the "Jonastaler Challenge". Highly recommended...It's really fun to ride along there. If you're unlucky, the wind whistles through the valley. I love this route! 🚴🏻‍♀️✌🏼

Not to be expected from the valley. Still a little insider tip

There is a lot of history in this canyon about the people who live there as well as geological history. Traces above the canyon indicate that a castle stood there (stone stairway/stone wall). Underneath there is apparently a rampart. The stones for the castle were probably mined in the canyon itself. Traces of processing can still be seen on the rock walls and surrounding rocks. It's also a mystical place.
