In spring, when the birds, i.e. the chickens, are looking for a mate, i.e. the hens, there is an indescribably beautiful concert of birds with the greatest variety of songs on the pebble ponds. Hallelujah!!

More specifically, there are two parking options to reach the Walsbach source. The short and direct way is the location shown here. However, it is advisable to combine a visit to the Walsbach source with a leisurely 5 km hike. Route: From the parking lot, head south (Großburschla) for about 400m on the country road. Shortly before the Agentenschleuse hiking car park, turn right up the field path to the Agentenschleuse. From here, crossing the patrol path, down the forest path to the spring and gently downhill on the forest path back to the starting point.

On the eastern shore of the Werratalsee you will find the small stretch of beach to rest or refresh yourself in the lake. A small playground is right next door.

This idyllic lake is located directly behind waxedt. It is suitable as a nice place to take a break and is equipped with information boards that explain the fauna around the pond.
