Nice fishing pond on the outskirts of town.

Starting from the Nordstrand car park (which can also be used as an ideal starting point for a bike tour), the road runs along the lake (north side). Further along the residential road, after 2km there is only an asphalt cycle path/footpath. It rolls along comfortably, every now and then there is access to the lake.

Somewhat undefined section, this highlight. The south side of the lake: A perfectly asphalted cycle path or residential road almost throughout. Only the last stretch towards the east bank is a cycle path of normal quality. But always beautiful views of the lake, fantastic!

The pond certainly belonged to the von Hackeburg castle, which once stood above the pond. Or to the monastery. Unfortunately, no information.

The Vatteröder Teich is a pond near Vatterode that is fed by the Wipper. It is part of a local recreation area originally created for the employees of the VEB Mansfeld combine "Wilhelm Pieck". In GDR times, the Mansfeld Echo press festival was held here.
