Beautiful lake with a spacious beach

Here, as part of the "Diversity in Geest and Moor" project, a biotope that had almost been lost was renatured and at the same time a beautiful local recreation area was created. The two ponds, which were completely overgrown, now offer an optimal habitat for many amphibians and dragonflies, but also for plant species. Osterbrink is the name of the forest that lies in the heart of Lorup. In addition to a fairly spacious shelter, you will also find a large pond where geyser-like water fountains are regularly sprayed into the air.

Nice and well-kept hut from the Breddenberg-Heidbrücken fishing club. A hammock can also be set up in the trees next to / behind the hut. When staying overnight, however, plan an early departure, depending on the time of sunrise, the first anglers will come quite early, at the latest from 7 or 7:30 am it gets lively around the pond.

Between Ermsterwegen and Hilkenbrook lies the beautifully landscaped swimming and recreational lake known as Erikasee. With its 4 hectares and its 200-meter-long sandy beach, as well as its surroundings, Erikasee offers a comprehensive range of amenities for a varied stay, including an adventure playground, mini-golf course, archery range, skate park, and two barbecue areas. Restroom facilities such as toilets, etc., can be found at the adjacent campsite. During the swimming season, a kiosk also operates, offering drinks, ice cream, coffee, cake, and more. All in all, Erikasee is quite a success and well worth a visit.
