If you're at the barbecue hut, you should take a moment and walk about three minutes down to the Elbe beach...it's even worth cooling your feet for a bit, fantastic!

I agree with Uta Fischer's comments. It's truly a great place for a rest or even an overnight stay.

Beautiful wooden observation tower with a view of the other shore. Next door, it looks like there are several parking spaces.

A great, quiet place with deck chairs on the Elbe, a restaurant and kiosk that is open at weekends and, especially, the possibility of staying overnight in the Hütten Hotel, really in small houses with everything you need, highly recommended and idyllic in a place steeped in history.

On this observation tower you can see the area and the climb is worth it

“Node 4” is located on the Elbe dike near Wootz, at the former Wootz-Gorleben ferry terminal. There is a small shelter on the dike and there is a very beautiful and relatively large sandy beach on the banks of the Elbe (except when there is high tide).
