The Panshet cycle circuit is a very beautiful and scenic route of about 80 to 90 km. On the left side of the Panshet Dam, the stretch via Shirkoli is about 30–40 km, but the road is a bit rough with ups and downs. The weather is excellent from August to February.

Komoot elevation profile isn’t that accurate here, first section is relatively steep but then flattens earlier than Komoot said when I planned it, last section very steep, scrambling involved and a couple of bits of rope to help you up the rock. Would imagine this walk would be very challenging in wet weather.

A great hike along the top of the ridge and through the tea plantation back to Old Munnar! But: We got into real trouble with two different people, one a guide and the other a plantation worker, because we didn't have a permit and were threatened with a 5,000 rupee fine. We did a Sunday morning bike ride to Varrivaan an integrated township being developed by Pharande spaces about 33 km from Aundh, Pune. We started as a group at 0645 hrs and had reached the destination in about 2 hours 15 mins. We left the place after a hearty breakfast at 1015 hrs and were back home by 12:25 hrs. Over all we covered about 66 kms in 4 hours 15 mi .
