We arrive at the Black Hole, an impressive rocky passage we traverse. The millstone quarry was operated between 1600 and 1915, and the rock was mined to a depth of 50 meters. The show mine can only be visited with a guided tour. A beautiful passage to the Schwarzes Loch show mine, but unfortunately the passage is currently closed due to rockfall.

The tour is wonderful in summer and autumn. In winter it becomes a challenge, especially when there is snow 👍

Access to the castle was via the knight's path along the shed mountain, on which traces of previous use are still visible. The knight's gorge, which is approximately 20 meters deep, had to be crossed, which was possible using a drawbridge at the lowest castle gate. The Ritterschlucht was spanned in 1890 with a new stone bridge, which was placed on the remains of the pillars of an older bridge. The Zigeunerstuben/Zigeunerwand rock group is located on a small wooded hill above the southwest edge of Jonsdorf, about 300 meters northeast of the Nonnenfelsen. Its name reminds us that gypsies were said to have camped here in earlier times.
