The Himmelsteich in Sommerschenburg with an area of approx. 11,100 m² is part of the “Harbke - Allertal” landscape protection area. A heavenly pond or heavenly pond is a still body of water that is not fed by any surface inflow and draws water exclusively from precipitation and groundwater.
