On May 27, 1906, an observation tower was inaugurated on the summit in honor of Duchess Alexandrine (1820–1904), wife of Duke Ernst II of Coburg.[3][4] The Alexandrine Tower, designed by Max Böhme, fell into disrepair over the following decades due to inadequate maintenance and was demolished in March 1936 due to its dilapidated condition. On July 18, 1936, the Thüringerwald-Verein Coburg e.V. inaugurated the Alexandrine Hut on the same site, built partly using stones from the former tower. The Alexandrinenhütte is a hut belonging to the Thüringerwald-Verein Coburg e. V. (Thuringian Forest Association Coburg). It is located on the Sennigshöhe (523 m above sea level), one of the highest points in the Coburg district, near the Mirsdorf district of the Meeder municipality in Upper Franconia (Bavaria). The wildlife enclosure in Hildburghausen invites parents and children to enjoy a lovely walk. A circular path leads directly around the enclosure. The enclosure covers a total of approximately eight hectares and offers plenty of space for many animals. This allows families to quietly observe red deer, fallow deer, and mouflon in their natural habitat. Of course, other animals such as squirrels and various bird species can also be observed in the enclosure. Along the trail, there are several viewing platforms from which walkers can enjoy a fantastic view of the grounds. It's also worth bringing binoculars for an even better view of the animals. Families can explore the wildlife enclosure in the Heiligen Grund area by the "Walled Ponds." In the Hildburghausen municipal forest, the signposts and shelters were designed in a very attractive, natural style. Using naturally grown tree trunks, the artist Max Müller built these wonderful shelters in many locations.

The hut there, built in a similar style to many others along the Werra-Burgensteig trail or in the Hildburghausen district at beautiful locations, offers shelter and a place to rest. The name can be adjusted as desired using a slider.
