It is a place where nature still appears untouched and you can feel the diversity of life in every leaf and every drop of dew. The benches along the path invite you to sit down and unwind. I sat down on one of the benches, surrounded by the silence of the forest, and let the moment sink in. It is a place that invites you to pause, reflect and enjoy the simple things in life. A picnic or breakfast in these surroundings is a real dream. Surrounded by the beauty of the valley and the fresh forest air, even the simplest dishes taste like a feast. The Fehrenbacher Grund is a perfect place to take a break, recharge your batteries and enjoy nature in all its splendor.

was the first in this region today. Simply beautiful, pleasant hiking trails, some with a bit of a challenge, i.e. plenty of roots on the paths. Still manageable. Sensible hiking shoes are recommended.

A wonderful bike ride from Ilmenau over the Dreiherrenstein and around the Schönbrunn dam leads through this magnificent valley. Our Thuringian Forest is really beautiful.

If you hike from the Werra spring back to Fehrenbach through the donkey ground, you will pass the barefoot pool. Here the tired hiker can treat his feet to a little refreshment.
