The Nordoe Inland Dunes are an important refuge for rare and endangered animal and plant species. The ecosystem depends on the nutrient-poor conditions and open landscape. To maintain these conditions, the area is now managed through extensive grazing with Galloways, Highland cattle, and Exmoor ponies.

Absolutely recommended swimming spots. Nice beach access, trash cans, life boards and life rings (which hopefully aren't needed, but great that they exist). Really very nice places to linger and enjoy and also tables and benches in the area if you want to sit properly for a snack.
