In this refuge you can find shelter when it rains or take a break on the benches in front of the refuge. In front of the refuge you will also find the beautiful Pfaffenbrunnen fountain.

PWV Hütte Zum Himmelreich is always a good resting place with good cake and traditional food. open from Wednesdays. Unfortunately not on Saturday.

At this point I would like to quickly say something about the source (whereby it corresponds to the art of poetry / if this 'source' is a 'fountain'): To quote the incomparable humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909 – 1979), who was known to a wide audience for his wordplay and “another poem,” with a short quatrain: "There's certainly a lot of beauty in it, on the element, the wet. The Brunnenwanderweg near Kaiserslautern is up to 16 km long. There are nine wells on this path.

On the summit in the kingdom of heaven you will find this hut, which is the home towns of the Pfälzer Wandverein (PWV) Otterbach. This regularly leads hikes, where guests are also very welcome. The Fritz-Claus-Hütte in the middle of the Palatinate Forest and in an old quarry is a must for hikers! Culinary delicacies from our own butcher's shop and from grandma's cookbook inspire just as much as home-baked cakes at coffee time. Of course you can also spend the night in the rustic hut. A total of 13 beds spread over 4 cozy rooms are located on the upper floor of the hut. This includes two spacious bathrooms with shower/toilet and daylight.
